The 77th LMHI Homeopathic World Congress was about to take place in Seville from October 2nd to 5th this year. It was a wonderful achievement in the history of homeopathy to be able to
reach an international audience all across the globe.
The LMHI, established in 1925 in Rotterdam, comprises homeopaths from over 70 countries. LMHI literally means Liga Medicorum Homeopathica Internationalis. Its sole purpose is to create a link among licensed homeopaths with medical diplomas and with societies and individuals interested in homeopathy.
There has been a proper connection and exchange of information among homeopaths. They have realized the efficiency of their tools and the benefit they can bring to society if there is a proper way to exchange information. The first meeting was held on the jubilee in 1829 in Leipzig, Germany, for the fiftieth anniversary of Hahnemann’s medical degree. Since then, there have always been attempts to unite homeopaths practicing this treatment.
One notable organization working behind this was the American Institute of Homeopathy, which inspired European homeopathic physicians to build a national institute for exchanging information and publishing homeopathic articles and lectures.
The landscape to achieve the motto is not easy to fulfill 100 percent. There are many challenges, including significant criticism and a lack of technology. A major figure who sacrificed his strength for it was Dr. Carroll Dunham. His major accomplishment was the First World Homeopathic Congress, held in Philadelphia in 1876, which attracted an audience of 788.
Tragically, he succumbed to his illness after compiling the congress’s enormous transactions.
It took another 50 years to establish the LMHI. Dr. Pierri Schmidt was the first president of LMHI.
This year’s event has particular significance as the formation of LMHI was first proposed in 1924
at the International Congress of Homeopathy in Barcelona. Thus, it marks the 100th anniversary
of LMHI. The theme of this year’s congress is “United to Continue Advancing.” Organizers
recognize the importance of honoring the hardship and sacrifices made by early generations
over 190 years of homeopathy’s evolution. Another notable event was the legal recognition of
homeopathy in Spain in December 2022.
Main Objective of the Congress
● Exhibiting Homeopathy’s Global Role: The congress will showcase how homeopathy
is practiced in different countries across the world and the current scenario of
homeopathy.
● Scientific Exchange: Discussions will cover new research, better clinical practices, and
innovative methods that could lead to new remedies, further evolving homeopathic
medical science. Attendees will be exposed to a wide range of this knowledge.
● Future Strategies: Organizers will highlight the importance of future directions in
homeopathy, key achievements to be made, and the route map for future progress.
Structure of the Congress
Over the four days, the events are structured to address critical concerns in homeopathy today.
Topics will include the impact of homeopathy on society, how it can positively affect the public,
and efficient healing methods for challenging cases.
There is a need for scientific validation for each remedy. LMHI will showcase scientific methods
and clinical trials that validate these practices. Workshops will be conducted to provide
attendees with a better understanding of case studies, selecting the right remedy, and
expanding their knowledge in homeopathy.
From October 2nd to 5th, it will be an exciting opportunity for homeopaths worldwide to
participate in this internationally recognized event for homeopathic medical science, featuring
lectures from renowned doctors globally
